As a lighthouse, shining the light of Christ, The Christian View magazine has always published truth and good news and the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

More than 1,700 individuals and many organizations and churches have been featured in the pages of The Christian View magazine, through one-on-one interviews or through coverage of many events, with hundreds of in-depth articles and more than 8,000 photographs.

The Christian View magazine was founded by, and is published by, Pickens County native and award-winning journalist and former newspaper Editor Karen Brewer and is locally owned and operated in Pickens County, South Carolina. Originally printed by the former Hiott Printing Company, The Christian View magazine is now printed by Lighthouse Printing, founded by Karen Brewer. She is also the founder of Lighthouse Media, Lighthouse Web Design, and Lighthouse Photography.

The Publisher is twice a graduate of Clemson University, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Liberal Arts, with a major in English (Literature) and a minor in Journalism., and a Master of Arts degree in English (Literature). While a full-time student at Clemson, she worked as a writer for the university and wrote Clemson University news and feature stories (as press releases sent to and published in statewide newspapers), and she wrote articles published in Clemson World alumni magazine and other university publications, and she wrote a WYFF television spot for the university. Also while a student at Clemson, she wrote news stories as a staff writer for The Tiger, Clemson's weekly student newspaper, and she wrote about Clemson University for The Clemson Messenger community newspaper, and, with fellow journalism students, she co-created and wrote articles for a printed newsletter for Helping Hands of Clemson, an emergency shelter and home for abused and neglected children.

While a newspaper Editor after college, she wrote hundreds of news and feature stories each year, and she also worked as a stringer for the Associated Press (AP), and her photography and articles were published in additional publications, including Sandlapper: The Magazine of South Carolina and The Baptist Courier, statewide publication of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.

The South Carolina Baptist Convention asked her to serve, with six Baptist Pastors, as a member of the Convention’s Resolutions Committee. She is a Southern Baptist, having joined her church in 2001, but all denominations of the Christian faith have been welcomed in the pages of The Christian View magazine.
