We should so live our lives to be an inspiration to others.
Inspire by being an encourager. The late Dr. Adrian Rogers said, "You're never more like God than when you're encouraging people, and never more like the devil than when you are discouraging people." Choose your words carefully to ensure that you are giving encouragement to those who need it -- and 'those who need it' includes everyone.
Inspire by being a person of honesty. Enable others to believe in you and trust in you and respect you by always being truthful.
Inspire by being kind. Be a person who lifts others up, not a person who tears others down. "Words said in seconds are never forgotten in a lifetime," said Ike Reighard. Enable others to respect you by showing kindness not only in your actions but also in your voice. Jesus did not merely teach loving kindness; He lived it. We are to follow His example.
Inspire by being a person of humility. "Pride produces strife, but humility produces unity," said Dr. Johnny Hunt. "More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them," said Donald Hardy. Enable others to respect you by expressing regret for wrongs and making things right. Be a person who makes peace rather than a person who creates strife.
Inspire by being a person who loves. I John 4:8 says, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
Inspire by being a giving person. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." (John 3:16). So that we may have eternal life, God loved, so He gave.
Inspire by being a person of compassion. Scripture records that Jesus was moved with compassion when He looked upon the people. Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save the world (John 3:17).
Inspire by being a caring person. It has been stated, "People don't care how much we know until they know how much we care."
Inspire by being a person of character. It has been stated that, "Character is doing right even when no one is watching." But even when no other person is watching, God is. It has also been said, "People of character do the right thing not because they think it will change the world but because they refuse to be changed by the world." Spurgeon said, "A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered."
Of more value than an impression you make with knowledge or achievements is the impression you make with your heart.
Most impressive that will draw others to the Saviour is a life we may build of character, of truth, of compassion, and of Christ-like love.
